STIGA bats are extremely popular all over the world because most are very light while still having good speed and control. Leisure bats are mainly for use at home, school etc.
What's the difference between these bats? Generally, the more expensive the bat is, the more spin and speed it has. The cheaper bats tend to have smoother rubber with less grip, but models like these (for example Attitude Champ Bat) are fine for fun at home. Their handles are especially good for kids and ladies and their slower speed make learning table tennis easy for beginners.
Bats like the Cougar, Cosmo and Delta have good spin. The Carbotech has awesome speed (Japanese sponge with carbon blade) while the Scorpio has fantastic control since it is Oversized and has a big sweet spot. The YASAKA William Henzell series of bats are in a class of their own. They are so good they can be used in competition. We glue the rubbers onto the blades and make these bats ourselves. When the rubbers wear out, simply peel off the rubber and get a new one.
We strongly advise getting a bat cover as it protects your rubbers and gives them longer life.
